The Vineyard at la Bastide
La Bastide is the hospitality part of a widder estate, which produces Armagnac spirit since 1967, under the label of Château de Sandemagnan.
Dan Andrews is the oenologist. After assisting the previous cellar masters of the estate, he is now involved in the evolution of the estate.
The Cellar
In 1983, a beautiful huge brass alambic (still) was accommodated in the Cellar.
Every november, a festive period called “la Flamme" takes place : white wine is distilled in the Alambic, night and day. The lucky ones who may pop in at this frosty time, will enjoy a very warm pre-dinner drink, by the still.
